last of illinois

Well, not forever.
It's the last of Illinois until we return to the states from Korea.

I can't remember where these ribs came from...
they were delicious though, as were the sides!
It's a place that always has HUGE lines, but UB knew the call ahead trick.
All those years of school paid off!
UB will be feeding us that the next time.
It's tradition. :)
Mmmm...dis sho is good
Wow. Pawpaw is actually trying to smile.
Come on girls, this is momentous. Play along.
See, now after all the drama, he is smirking.
Moaning along with Abby...
And with that, we left.

it's a partee

Well, we're ditching Daddy for Hawaii!
Bummer that he won't be with us, but he's not a beach person anyway!

Before we left, we wanted to have a little party for the girls...
no costumes this year. :(
Cute outfits though, so that's got to be worth something!

Daddy had helpers with the pumpkin for about 2 minutes. :)
Anyhow, here is a video after the girls opened some gifts.

Beks LOVED hers. HA.

Happy Halloween!

{please pray for us on our trip...Beks is always a treat to travel with!}

just a taste

In no particular order...
because I'm tired.
And lame, really.
I now consider 11:20p.m. quite late to be staying up! :)

Our weekend at Mt. Sorak...
many more pictures to come.
And the stories.
Cute girly girl stories. Just for you!

random silliness.

Abby took this one...too cute!
Not sure how she got Beks to pose.
They were darn cute together today. Well, most of the day.
Is that the way it goes with sisters??
Abby & her Barbies.
She used to have 4, then one lost her head.
I didn't work long on the surgery table...
Now, she has 3.
Two are from the Thrift Shop, and she doesn't know it.
She guards them from her sister because they are special.
HA. Special because they only cost $1, little lady.
Oh well, Beks has Kim doll.

Well, Grandma sent a cute Halloween skirt with a black turtleneck.
Why couldn't I just leave well enough alone?
I decided to try my hand at applique.
First, I sewed the pumpkin on...
Daddy saw it and remarked that maybe I should make it a jack-o-lantern
{and then I believe he made a comment under his breath something along the lines of, "Good luck with that!"}
So, I cut out the eyes & nose
then I headed back over for Daddy's help.
He does nice pumpkin work...good mouth, Daddy!
We like the buck teeth. Do you know any good dentists? Ha.
{for those of you that don't know, Brad's dad & brother are both dentists}
And I am funny. Real funny.
And I do not completely stink at applique.
The next set of photos belong to Abby.
She is obsessed with the camera all of a sudden.
Which means Beks is too...
it's just a matter of time before the camera ends up in the dog water; I'll take bets.

This is one of my favorite photos of Daddy in a long time.
Taken by Abby...
Daddy is saying, "cheese" holding a bag of cheese. Get it?
It's pretty cute. And funny.
Abby gets up close & personal to I-Dog...
What?
And she's off...there goes our little hippy.
From the back, I think she looks like a little boy from the 70's.

Abby got a good shot of Grace enjoying our new Korean table.
We got this for the girls...
Abby works on her schoolwork here.
Beks likes to sit & stand on it.
If not watched closely,
she has been known to drag her doll stroller up there too.
Not that it would EVER happen on my watch. :)
We had our friends {Todd, Charlotte & Baby Grace} over the other night & I had been wanting to get some pictures taken.
I let Abby have a go at it.
No worries, she got Mr. Todd's good side!
Our little photographer...hmm, not sure what she was going for here.
Abby wanted her photo taken...this was after trying to get them to pose together.
Can I just say that I'm
SO EXCITED
to think about taking our Christmas picture this year??
Does this look familiar, Grandma Lene?
{If you can see around all the jewels...}

a hiking we will go

I am so sorry I have been neglecting my blogging duties...
I fear I will lose all my readers. Yes, all 2 of you!

So, here I am.
We have been busy, busy.

But we have found a new place that we all love to visit.
It's called Buraksan Park & it's just a few minutes from base.

As Abby sees it now, our hiking adventures include:
Subway sandwiches
Cheetos or the ever popular salt & vinegar Pringles
Oreo Cookies (even though she's not too fond of chocolate cookies!!)

She is my daughter.

Anyway, the weather has been gorgeous & the girls have loved it each time we've gone.
The first time we went, we took the camera.

Here's the crazy path we managed to find the first time we went...
It was quite steep, but beautiful. I love trees.
It's all much clearer now.
Bekah is explaining something very important to us!
Both girlies & their cute dog ears (otherwise known as pigtails!!)
Abby actually hiking :)
Some of the exercise equipment along the main trail
Beks was so cozy
Until...HAHAHA. Lots of Koreans found this humorous!
A beautiful field of flowers...we found this as we were looking for the car!
Bloggy love,

p.s. Aunt Shirley, is this acceptable? :)

while bekah napped...

I just had to take a picture of this...

During Bek's nap, Abby positioned these items outside her door.
Why?

Well, after questioning Abby, this is what I found out:
1. Abby does not like 'KIM' doll.
{thank you Uncle Kim for making that a normal boy name!} :)
His hair creeps her out.
Let's be honest; his hair creeps us all out.
2. Abby is done with the car. A baby can play with it.
3. Abs is looking for Kim's clothes.
He apparently went swimming, and hadn't put on his real clothes yet.

Does this post make you happy, dear family?
I will be back with pictures of the girlies soon.
Bloggy love,
