Momma's Christmas Present...Dream Christmas List, Part 1

Oh yes, can you see the I Dog & I cruising the neighborhood in this?
Thought so.

Not sure what to do with the kids...
do you think it's a bigger bucket than what it looks like?  :)

Love the basket & flowers too!!
My dear hubby will need to move me to a lovely little place
where I can take it to the Farmer's Market.

Oh, to dream..

our little korean girls...

Much to our girls' dismay, they wore their Korean hanboks for Halloween!

They wanted to be Abby Cadabby (Beks) & Zoe (Abby).
Sorry girls.

This momma just wasn't that organized this year!  Okay, and I really wasn't sure about the whole Sesame Street monster thing.  We could get them outfits that would look good, but I know my girls.  They wanted the furry parts too.  Cookie Monster, no problem.  Abby & Zoe, not so much.

The good news: they were adorable!  :)

When I say adorable,
it means that Beks didn't make this face when visiting our neighbors' homes!  HA

Let's put on our reflective belt...and we can sing Deep & Wide while we're waiting!

Love this girly...

They went down to the end of our LONG driveway
to see the SCARY house on the corner!

Beks getting a ride after taking a spill out of the stroller.
Yes, it was no surprise that it was Beks!

The pumpkins: Doggy & Happy Face

It was a fun night in our new neighborhood!  We didn't last too long.  The weather was chilly & windy, but it seems like their layered hanboks were just fine.  After we finished up, Daddy & Abby handed out our candy at the end of the driveway.  For some reason, the lightweights didn't want to make the trek up our driveway!  :)

The best part of the evening is when we had a real live Korean gal open the door to us!  She was so delighted to see the girls.

She said, "What are you girls wearing?  I know, but I want you to tell me."
So, they did.  Which got them some candy.

Then, they said, "Kamsahamnida."
They got hugs, kisses and MORE CANDY!  :)  It made me miss Korea!

A funny side story to this is that on Saturday night a friend of ours asked Abby where she was from, and she answered, "Korea!"  HA.  And in conversation tonight, Abby told Daddy that she is a Korean American.  :)  No confusion in this house!  Gotta love it!

That's a wrap for Halloween this year!

carving, with a twist...

Daddy didn't have much in the way of little assistants this year.

Well, that's not entirely true.
Mommy was busy with the pumpkin seeds.  Mmmm, pumpkin seeds.  Oh, I said little assistants.  One can dream...

The girls...well, they just thought it was a little too icky.  Too many guts involved for them!  (I have a video that blogger is refusing to upload -- I'll keep working on it!)

Here is Daddy's biggest helper.
Note: You may want to mute this one...Abby's laughter is on the extreme side!  :)

We're not 100% sure how we'll handle this next year.  Had we known how this was going to go, Mommy & Daddy would have carved at night while the girlies were in bed!  We shall see what the next year brings!!

another stellar parenting moment...

Well, this morning, Daddy & Mommy were really tired.
We are such party animals.
HA!

The real story is that we have NHL Center Ice...
we get to watch Avs games, but they aren't always on at the best times.
So, last night, we were up until about midnight.

When the girlies got up at 6-something,
Daddy told them they had to go into the playroom until 7am.
Sure thing, they did it.  LOUDLY.  But, they stayed in there until after 7.
Mommy got up around 7:30 to find them playing nicely together.
{Oh, and saw Daddy had an earplug in. Nice. Ever heard of sharing?!!}
The MESS was incredible, but it's the price we pay.

When I commented on the mess,
Abby said, "Well, it is a playroom.  That's what we were doing."
Love the first born.

Anywho,
the girls had dressed themselves.
Which might sound like a good thing, but at our house, it's an experience -- sometimes good, sometimes not.
Ab found a great outfit for Beks, but it included jeans (they were at least a dark wash, so that was a battle Mommy didn't pick).
Abby's outfit wasn't her worst, but it was not necessarily good either.
Again, Mommy wasn't in the mood to push the issue.

Fast forward...
Mommy is the last one in the car (making us late for Sunday School, AGAIN!!) -- family waiting patiently for me as I run out of the house to the car backing out of the garage.

We get to the church, and this is what I find when I open up Bek's side of the car...

Hmmm...remembering Daddy yelling up the stairs something about Bek's shoes.
Me answering that I would bring something down.
Me drying my hair.  And trying to find clothes that actually fit me right now.
And running down to the car b/c I'm so late.
Right.
We took Beks to church without shoes.  In jeans.  Nice.
Oh, and we didn't stop there.
We went out to lunch after church.

Will I ever not be that mom?  :)

new look...

Welcome to our new blog -- it's really the same blog, just a different link and look!  I just finished a self-paced class over at www.jessicasprague.com; can't wait to learn more.  The whole digital scrapbooking/designing your own blog seems to be a little addictive!  :)  This is a trial run...leave us a comment and let us know what you think!  Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!  :)  Daddy J already told me it looks like it says, "Johnson FITS."  HA!  That would actually be quite fitting most days!  For all the girlies at our house...

that's not my baby...is it?

We have some big news at the Johnson house...

Beks is now in a big girl bed!!!

To say she was excited is an understatement!
Just look at this smile...

There are many days that Abby would like for you to believe
she doesn't care much for her little sister --ha!

This picture proves otherwise!  :)

We're still working on the finishing touches of their shared room.
It's gonna be so cute!
(You can't see the crib...it's over against the wall!)

Beks has done really well.
Um, most days.
This morning, Abby had to go to the bathroom at 4:20am...
and for some reason, Beks woke up at the exact same time.
Weird.
They did not go back to sleep.
Translation: we all did not go back to sleep.
Why am I still up?

More big sister smiles...
(See the cat, Grandma?  We got the box!! Must talk soon!)

Can you tell she is happy to have a roommate?
(Don't ask her...she'll deny, deny, deny!)

Of course this happens to us...
the mommy who was always so sure that Beks would be in her crib until almost 3.
Just like Abby was.

Hmmm...anyone want to remind me that Abby & Beks are mighty different.
My brave, brave 2-year-old girly wanted a big girl bed.
Actually, they wanted bunk beds.
Which they got -- minor detail that they won't be in that formation for quite some time.

If you talk to Beks about it,
be sure to call them bunk beds.
You DON'T want to be corrected.
She is 2, ya know?!

I've missed this blog.  I am in the process of designing my own background, pics & format (um, in my free time!), and it's not going very fast.  I'll just keep trucking along, so hopefully you'll see the new cuteness before long.  Anyway, I couldn't stay away from here any longer!!

she has bangs...

And boy, doesn't she look happy about it?! :)

It sure has been awhile, hasn't it? I am going to try & do better--the blog has been so neglected. I definitely want to write about the summer, but there is no time for that now. Too busy organizing. And potty training. And putting a screaming 2 year old down for a nap she doesn't want to take. Fun, fun. We'll (read: Mommy) be updating the look of the blog over the next couple of months, so that will be exciting! Well, for me it will be...

Back to the bangs. Yesterday, I was at the front door talking to some friends who had stopped by the house. Beks comes running up to me and says, "Look, Mommy." I look down & it sure looked like she had her hair in her hand. Yes, you guessed it. In her other hand, there was a pair of Abby's scissors! At first, we couldn't determine where the big chunk of hair had come from. I was in the bathroom a little while later & (of course) Beks came to join me. She was up on the stool & I figured out where she managed to cut her hair...now she has bangs. Quite nice bangs, thank you very much. I told her she had done a nice job, but we need to let the people who go to school to cut hair do their jobs. Maybe there is a future in this?? :)

Alright, back to the organizing!

today's excitement

This girl...
ARGH.
I can't tell you how many times a day I hear,
"NO! ME!"
"I DO IT MYSELF!"
It's crazy.
So stubborn & so independent...I guess she's so 2!!

Here is the littlest after falling off the step outside GG's house.
Right onto her head.
This picture doesn't do it justice, but you get the idea!
The day started off with Mommy thinking Beks was with Grandma.
She wasn't.
She was up on the stool in the bathroom.
Supposedly brushing her teeth.
Turns out she did that about 3 times
{I'm sure she wasn't eating the toothpaste}...
then, she put on her makeup, washed her hands,
and apparently put her contacts in.
Oh, wait.
I mean she washed my last pair of contacts down the drain
while washing her hands!!
Ha.

Tonight,
she used half the lotion...
on herself, the floor, her sister, her pjs & probably a few other places we haven't discovered yet.
She's sleeping in the toddler bed for the first time.
And hasn't gotten out.
She is all sorts of contradictions.
This Bekah.

Any bets on if she falls out? :)
